Last Thursday night the freshmen boys basketball team took on their cross town rivals, the Woodcreek Timberwolves. It was a thriller, as it came down to the last shot. The Tigers trailed by one with less than 20 seconds to play when shooting guard Carson Miller attempted a three-point shot. He missed, but small forward Bryce Crouch secured the offensive rebound and scored on a short jumper.

The basket made the only points that the Tigers scored in the fourth quarter as they grinded out a 40-39 win on the road. Crouch led the team in points with 19. He has led the team in every league game this year. Forward Nick Espino hit three consecutive three pointers towards the end of the third quarter to make it a game.

"The team played great and it was a great win," said Max Modeste.

Last Tuesday the Tigers faced off against the Del Oro Eagles on the road. They got their second win of the season as they won in another nail biter. The final score was 46-43. Crouch scored 26 to lead the team to victory. Solid defense won the game according to head coach Jimmy Page.

"We played great defense as a team," said Page. "It was our best game of the year."

On January 19, the boys took on the Granite Bay Grizzlies at home. They came out on the wrong side of the game as they lost at the feet of the Grizzlies. This loss put their league record at 1-2.

"We played decent, but it wasn't enough," said Page.

In the first two games of league season, the Tigers took on the Rocklin Thunder and the Nevada Union Miners. The Tigers came out victorious in the first game against the Miners, but fell short against the Thunder.
