Three people, including two Roseville High School students, have been arrested in relation to charges of drug possession and sale on campus.

The arrests were made last Friday, April 20, a day commonly associated with drug use and consumption.

At least three students bought marijuana-laced brownies from two RHS students, one senior and one sophomore, who were later arrested.

“There were two subjects arrested and a third formally charged,” said youth services officer Carlos Cortes. “Two of the people who were arrested go to RHS, and the third party that was formally charged was an adult that does not.”

Paramedics responded to one of the students who bought brownies and after consumption suffered from nausea, unconsciousness, vomiting and violent shaking.

“It looked like he was going to pass out,” said sophomore Martel Bryant, who was in class with the student when the incident occurred. “He was barely coherent.”

According to this student, doctors informed him that there were other drugs in the brownies in addition to marijuana, which may have precipitated his response to the brownies.

“They strapped my arms and legs down [in the ambulance], I felt like I was going to die,” said the student in an exclusive interview with the Eye of the Tiger. The Eye of the Tiger will not publish the student’s name as he is a minor.

After medics arrived on campus, RHS administration and the Roseville Police Department confiscated the student’s phone and investigated the incident. After searching through the student’s phone, the administration discovered who was selling the drugs. They also found that other students had bought pot brownies.

“They searched [the dealer] and found his phone and other people who were associated with it,” said the student. “They stopped it before a lot of other people were going to [buy brownies].”

The students who bought the brownies were suspended for five days and the dealers were arrested.

According to the RHS student handbook, all students involved may be expelled.

The Roseville Police Department could only confirm that the arrests were drug related because the case involves minors.
