Hey all you Balers! Do you want to get involved with our school, show your spirit, play games and have fun? Well then you should join Rally Club! Rally Club is a great way to get involved with the school and all the school-sponsored activities. Being a part of Rally Club is a great way to show your Baler spirit – as well as your athlete and teacher appreciation. If you are interested, you should talk to Amy Henneman, who is our rally club advisor. She is a former Baler and she wants to see San Benito High School bring back the spirit that it had when she was a student. “Baler spirit is having pride, unity among all students, and to act accordingly to the baler code,” says Henneman. Some ways to show your Baler Spirit is to get involved at the rallies, follow the baler code, and show your pride as a baler by wearing school colors and class T-shirts. One activity that Rally Club offers is Balers Got Game, which is athlete and leader appreciation. This event takes place every week. At lunch on Fridays we have the BLT booths, as well as rallies, homecoming, sports, games, parades, and dances. Rally Club is in charge of practically every dance and school activity. Amy Henneman gets involved with her students that are a part of the Rally Club by going to group dinners, and other activities outside of school. Henneman tries to coach the students without telling them what to do. She aims to guide the students’ growth as leaders, rather than lead them herself, allowing for creative expression, new ideas, and individual freedom. She bonds with each student and Henneman takes the time to become close with everyone.
