Registration for spring semester dual credit classes will take place on Nov. 20 at Lamar High School from 12:30 - 3 p.m. Students will be called to the Commons

alphabetically.

Prior to registration, students should visit with their counselor and determine which courses they can take. Spring semester schedule booklets will be available at the high school office beginning Nov. 13.

Student’s parents should plan to attend registration to sign required paperwork as well. Once again, LHS students will have the option of taking dual credit courses on the LCC campus, at LHS or a combination of the two locations.

Spring semester courses at LCC begin Jan. 17 and end May 8.

Before Nov. 13, students need to have a current LCC application on file. If they have never taken a dual credit course, or it has been a year since they took one, students must submit a new application. Obtain the application from your counselor. Applicants must return the application to Micky Marsh at the college. The address is 2401 S. Main, Lamar.

If students plan to enroll in a math or English course, they must have passing scores on either the ACCUPLACER placement exam or the ACT test. If students have questions about their scores, they can contact Marsh at 336-1521.

If students need to take the placement test, the test center is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Fridays.

For students unable to get to the test center during the week, the test will also be administered on Nov. 11 at 10 a.m. at LCC.

Students are encouraged by college officials to call 336-1528 to reserve a space for the Saturday test. Students are required to present a picture ID before testing may take place.
