Dear Penny,

Hi Penny! My big brother is a 7th grader like me. He’s dating an 8th grader and I don’t like her. Even though I don’t like her he’s happy. I want him to know I’ll be there for him, but I don’t want him to get hurt. What should I do?

From,

Worried, Confused, and Concerned lil’ sister

Dear Worried, Confused, and Concerned lil’ sister,

You should try to talk your older brother about how you feel, and let him know that you will be there for him. Try to see her good qualities, while avoiding her bad ones. Although he might get hurt, he will eventually get over it, move on, and learn a lesson from the experience. If he is happy, be happy for him. Be positive about the relationships that your brother has and is going to have many as the year’s progress and no matter whom he chooses, you must support him and be happy for him. Just think, you want him to support you when the time comes.

With Love,

Penny Plainsman
