3 Strikes, You’re Out!

Samantha Herriford

Editorial Pod

The eighth grade BBQ, Disneyland, and promotion are all very important and fun events that make the end of eighth grade, or rather the first into adulthood, very meaningful.  So, make sure that you will be included in these events by staying on your best behavior.

Strike! The three strikes were made to keep students under control when it comes close to the end of the year. The first strike is no eighth grade BBQ.  The BBQ, on June first, is a fun time for you and your friends to hang out and have a good time. The second strike takes away your trip to Disneyland on June third. No magical experience for you. Finally, the third strike takes away your 2009 Junior High promotion. This may not seem important you, but your parents and grandparents do care and enjoy seeing you grow.

Strikes can be given out for fighting, dress code violations, to many tardies, harassment, and other behavioral problems. You receive strikes from principles, not teachers. However, if you are continuously misbehaving in class they can send you to the office to receive the strike. In addition, you can earn back privileges in ten days of good behavior, but with the events so close, beware of how much time you have left in between.

Stay strike free so you can be a part of these ends of the year activities. They are your reward to all your hard work throughout your junior high experience. Good luck next year!
