Kids running while throwing a football. The crowd is going crazy! They are screaming “GO, GO, GO!” The cheerleaders are moving around so happy doing the cheer the have practiced over and over again and the hard work finally paid off. The boys are sweating like pigs. The coach, from the side lines, is telling the boys to run faster to make the touchdown. This is amazing…the boys have won the game, made the touch down, YAY!!!! Half of the crowd is sad and the other half is going down to hug their children because they are so proud of them.
Guess what....football won the poll!!! Football is the most popular sport to Sierra Vista. The teams around Santa Clarita are the Outlaws, Wildcats, Canyon Cowboys and more. The object of the game is to pass the football to teammates and to score six point touchdowns. After a touchdown you get a chance to make a three point field goal, or you can make a two point safety by having a member of your team take the ball to your end zone.
Football has to have 22 players and the field is 120 yards long. In the beginning of the game there is a kickoff and then the players just try to make a touchdown. To play in this sport you have to have protective wear on so you don’t get hurt. Going into the game you know you can get really hurt. The equipment they use a mouth guard, helmet, pads for your shoulders, under amour (girdle), cup, football cleats, uniform, and padded shirt. Football is lots of fun, but there are other sports out there that you can choose from like: soccer, baseball/softball, basketball, gymnastics, rugby, and more.
So as the temperature drops, the leaves turn from green to yellow think of an activity to participate in, whether it is football or not.
