Six hundred students are eating, talking, playing and shouting. Long lines of kids are waiting to purchase their lunch. This is chaos and this is our lunchtime.
We went out and asked 65 random kids how they get their lunch. Surprisingly, most kids either bring or switch off bringing and buying lunch throughout the year. Others either buy or do not bring a lunch at all. Twenty-eight of these students bring and buy while just bringing comes in a close second with twenty-five kids. There were six kids for buying lunch and six kids who do not eat lunch at all.
Do you know why we have two lunches? For one, the lines would be too long and kids would still be in line to get their lunch when the bell rings. Think the lunch area is crowded? What if double the students were all eating and shouting and moving in that already crowded space. Think about it, there are about 12 hundred students at this school. You can have your opinion on having two lunches, but just think about what it would be like with only one.
