The Huron Lady Chiefs 7th grade volleyball team played Grosse Ile at home on Tuesday, October 7th, 2008. Although they did not win any of the games, they played very well. One thing that really helped them get through the game easily was their setting. They used all three hits they had and made sure they got the ball over they net. Quite a few of their set ups gained them points. Another advantage was their serves. A lot of the serves were aces. An ace is an unreturnable serve. Some outstanding players include Riley S, Kari C, and Megan C. The scores of the games were 9-25, 17-25, and 5-15. Coach Leszczynski stated, “With every game, our team is improving.” In conclusion, the 7th played a great game, giving it all they had, which is as almost as good as winning.



The Huron Lady Chiefs 8th grade volleyball team also played Grosse Ile at home on Tuesday, October 7th, 2008. They ended up losing two of the three games, but played very well. Their serves we great as usual. One thing they did better was their setting, just like the 7th graders. Every setter knew where they were setting and made sure the ball was high enough so that the hitter, or spiker, could hit it over the net. All of the set ups gained the team quite a few points, which helped them gain a few leads in each game. Some of the amazing plays were played by Stephanie S, Savannah H, Brinley C, Kelsey W, and Haley W. The scores of the games were 19-25, 20-25, and 16-14. In conclusion, the 8th grade volleyball team was outstanding and really showed what they are made of!
