Falcon volleyball players had a successful regular season. - Kira Warner
The Falcon varsity volleyball team continues to fly with a fantastic regular season record of 11-9. After a strong season, the team has guaranteed themselves third place in their regular district season.

“One of the strongest things about our team is its versatility,” said Jose Gonzalez-Rodriguez, varsity coach. “Every player is comfortable in several positions which helps our team to be successful.”

Lindsay Boerger, sophomore, could not agree more.

“We are a very strong team with a lot of skill,” Boerger said. “We also have a really good relationship between teammates and can trust each other to get the job done.”

Gonzalez-Rodriguez hopes that the team will continue with their success in the district playoffs.

“I think that our team can definitely make it to the regional games,” said Keke McCardell, sophomore. “If we stay focused and work really hard we may have a chance at making it to states.”

After his first season with the Falcons, Gonzalez-Rodriguez can only express how proud he is of all of the girls for the amount of success that they have had.

“From the beginning I told this team that I thought that they could make it far,” said Gonzalez-Rodriguez. “This team has always done well and has made me proud.”

The team advanced to the first round in the regional playoffs, but lost to Powhatan High School to end the season with a 12-12 record overall.
