With the current recession Christmas can be a hard time on families, but Northern Vance’s Key Club is holding a Christmas store for select families.
According to Key Club advisor, Susan Westbrook, the Christmas Store sold low-priced toys to families that were given a special invitation. There were 61 families invited to attend. These families had a total of 150 children looking for Christmas gifts. They were given the opportunity to buy three to five gifts each.
According to a Facebook source, using money donated by various sources, the Key Club bought $1,652.84 worth of toys for the store. These donations, along with the volunteers, led to a successful Christmas store.
“I'd like to thank all those who donated presents and/or volunteered at the Christmas Store this morning. It was a huge success!!” senior Matt Renn said.
