Obituary:
Today we remember and honor the life of The Webutuck Chronicle. The Chronicle has appeared and reappeared over the years. This year it took much effort to arrive. Ultimately, we succeeded in allowing students at Webutuck a place to express themselves.
The Chronicle started out slowly with several failed efforts by both advisor Mr. Pollak and the students of the paper. After a few threats of a Crayola paper, The Chronicle finally got its act together, and its first article went up on hsj.org on November 18th. We have been going strong ever since. In its prime, The Chronicle featured articles such as “School Vehicles May Not Idle” and “Colored Skinny Jeans: Hot or Not?”
The death of the paper comes with the close of the first semester. Journalism will no longer be offered and The Chronicle will become just a memory of the past, something for the students to look back on when they feel the need for some creativity.
The work of The Chronicle staff will be respected in its final days as a paper, and students will quietly mourn The Chronicle with courtesy.
