There I was, sitting on the grass. Some people were screaming, others were cheering, but there was definitely a lot of trash talking. I’m at the annual French and German soccer game.

Each year, the French and German classes hold a soccer game during school. They chose soccer because it’s a huge sport in Europe. Prior to the game, the French team designed red shirts, and the German team designed black ones. The main reason why they hold this event is because they don’t have the opportunity to go on many field trips or have parties like the Spanish classes. According to student reports, the German team is usually more competitive and the French team just cheers and socializes. This year, however, the French ruled the field.

I think Mr. Zydzik and Mrs. Larson’s idea to have an annual soccer game is a great tradition. It’s a creative way to have fun and meet new people in foreign language classes. This year’s soccer game brought excitement and some friendly competition to Case. It was so much fun to watch.

Usually the German team wins, but this year the French team had a victory. The final score was 2-0. C’est la vie Mr. Zydzik!
