Ever since Lt. Col. Rich Appel had begun his tour of duty overseas, a new principal at the Chilton Middle School had been hired. This was Mr. Scott Fritz. Mr. Fritz began his teaching career after graduating from UW- Eau Claire. He continued to further extend his teaching education by returning to Marian College to complete his Masters in Educational Leadership. After finishing his education degree, Fritz began his teaching career in Chilton in 1993 as a high school science teacher. Mr. Fritz had taught advanced biology and general biology at Chilton High School. Prior to teaching in Chilton, Mr. Fritz taught as a middle school science teacher in Walworth, WI.
Sadly though, Mr. Fritz will no longer be with us by the end of this July. Recently, Mr. Fritz was chosen out of 40 applicants to become the new principal for Howards Grove High School. Fritz said, "I’m very excited to begin this new career. Chilton and Howards Grove are very similar in many ways at a first glance. Leaving will be a bitter-sweet moment, and I have mixed emotions about it. Of course I will be sad leaving, and yet I’m very excited about this new career in a new building because it poses a new challenge for myself and my family."
According to Mr. Fritz, he is thankful that his community, student body and administration have been very supportive in his decision to leave Chilton to become the new principal in Howards Grove. He said, "The best part about Chilton, for me, is the student body, staff, people and community. That’s going to be the hardest part about leaving. It’s always been special teaching here, especially since I have been here for seventeen years." We wish Mr. Fritz the best of luck in his new position at the Howards Grove High School.
