Holding on and letting go

Everything happens for a reason, the hard part is, trying to figure out what the reason is. Things in life go wrong so you can learn to appreciate them when they are right. But it is hard when it feels like they are constantly going wrong. However, you find true friends by saying goodbye to ones that have hurt you or broken your trust. You end old relationships to find someone else you can’t get enough of. You gain strength in overcoming all the obstacles life throws at you.

Saying goodbye to "good" friends is not easy; memories creep up on you wherever you go. Letting go of people you used to trust, expecting the lowest from people you thought the highest of, is hard, but sometimes holding on hurts even more. People come and go and with each hello and goodbye you become stronger in handling those difficult situations. Friendships are one of the most important things to have in high school and finding true friends - the ones that will always be there even after high school - is even more important.

When you lose someone close to you, young or old, family or friend you constantly think of how unfair it is that a life was taken. Trying to figure out why people are taken so suddenly is the famous unanswered question. The constant statement running through your head, "This is not fair." It shows you how fast life can be, to not waste time being unhappy or lazy. If there is something in this world that you want, then you have to go out and fight for it until you get it. Say everything that is on your mind, do not hold anything back. People always believe they have so much time, when they truly do not know. Never leave anything unspoken, learn to make the most out of the life you are living today.

There are many more examples of obstacles, these are just two that you may stumble upon and hopefully overcome. But, what does not kill you only makes you stronger. Holding on and letting go; sitting down and figuring out what makes you happy or figuring out what does not. I have figured out that where you are, what you are doing, and whom you are with are not necessarily the things that make you happy or unhappy, but it truly is what you think about. Simply remember, no matter what happens, tomorrow is a new day.
