On Thursday’s windy afternoon, the boy’s tennis team was battling it out against Oakmont in an exciting match. The game, which was Senior Night, started out with Coach Doug Noe speaking about the seniors Justin Tynan, Chris Han, and number one Nathan Dudley who was absent from the match due to a choir trip. This was followed by the team’s ritual of announcing each player and them running down the line of teammates, receiving high fives and applause.

This was an interesting game due to the fact that two players were missing causing all players to move up in rank. This created a challenge for them. Yet the boys proved dominant because all members won, except for, temporary number one player, Tyler Clark.

“I played a tennis beast of a man today who took me, ate me, and spit me out and beat me 1-6, 2-6. I played well but he was great,” said Clark.

Number two player, Jeffrey Clark, dominated at 6-1, 6-0, while number three, Chris Hartman, also dominated 6-0, 6-1.

Number four, Leandro Praseli, said, “Despite the windy conditions, I played a great match shutting my opponent down 6-2, 6-0.”

The player’s love for tennis shows though when they play. Tyler Clark said, “I have a lot of fun playing tennis because it’s a sport that I love, a team that I enjoy, and I always try to make friends with the people I play. I love it.”

Tennis is a great sport to watch because there is so much going on at once and the matches can get very close and intense. Spectator Shannon Peiffer states, “Tennis is a very enjoyable sport to watch. It can get really intense with these beastly tennis men. So come out and support!”
