Allen Iverson for the Grizzlies
Advertising
Every basketball fan remembers Allen Iverson, former NBA MVP and 10-time All Star. Last season, Allen Iverson missed 16 games due to having a bad back, so he recieved a lot of heat from many reviews and fans. According to Iverson, he "is not on the rocking chair yet". He wants to prove that he's not finished yet.

On September 10th the Memphis Grizzlies announced that they have signed 34-year-old Allen Iverson on a 1 year contract. The Grizzlies, ranked 5th worst team in the nation, and a team that has not been to the playoffs since 2006 is hoping to do better than last season with 24-58. Allen Iverson received an incentive-laden deal with a salary of about $3.5 million, immediately becomming the biggest name ever to be stiched on a Grizzlies jersey.

There was only one other All Star that played for the Grizzlies in history and that was Pau Gasol in 2006. Iverson ranks second among active players in career scoring behind the notorious Shaquille O'Neal and is 16th all-time with 23,983 points in 886 games with Philidelphia, Denver, and Detroit. Iverson will play when the season opens against his most recent team. The Detroit Pistons will visit Memphis on October 28th. Whether or not Iverson will help the Grizzlies to win is not known. There is one thing for certain, however, and that is that Iverson still has a lot of game time before he retires. We can only hope that he will own the court in Memphis.
