On  March 27th, 2009, our community lost a great man. Todd Deel passed away leaving behind his son Zak Deel a senior among us at River Valley, his daughter Maddie a sixth grader at River Valley Middle School and his wife. Todd was very involved in River Valley in as many ways as one person could possibly be. He was always first to help whenever there was the request for volunteers. He was one of our assistant football coach. Through his teaching and coaching he played a large role in the growing of many young men and women’s lives. Some he inspired to be not only better than their opposition on the field and life, but to be better than what they were as people. His mentoring shaped the lives of so  many athletes and students with his guidance and his amazing ability to communicate. He used this gift to entertain and have as a good person to talk to, while he used it almost as frequently to help those in need regardless of their situation anyone could go to coach Deel. He was a great man, teacher, coach, and above all a loving father and husband. Todd you are missed and forever will be.
