This was a tough week for boy’s basketball. It started out on Tuesday, January 6th during a double header at Northwood against Frederic. Frederic started out the night by scoring early. Northwood was down by ten and then made a come back. As the game went on though, Northwood just couldn’t get ahead. Brad Ross, a junior was the highest scorer with 14 points. The game ended with a 35-40 loss.
JV played second and even though freshman Austin Meyers and Gage Harwick were the leading scorers, JV still had a devastating defeat.
Northwood played against Solon Springs on Thursday, January 7th at home. JV played first and started off the night with a really exciting game. They went in to over- time and ended up losing 47-48.
Varsity took the floor at seven and the game started with Northwood having a good lead over Solon Springs. They didn’t lose that lead till the end of the third period. The Fourth period started of with a very close score and stayed that way all the way to the end.
A lot of fouls were called on Northwood in the fourth quarter, including an intentional foul on senior Sam Radzak. All those fouls helped Solon Springs get ahead. The leading scorers were Juniors Brad Ross and Brian Albano and Senior Sam Radzak who all had 12 points. The game ended with a 51-57 loss for Northwood.
