Prom season is finally here! It’s time to get your last minute essentials. As you know, prom is May 22nd at the Crooked Lake House and tickets are now $60 for a single and $110 for a couple. Mrs. Yannone, in room 177, can help students who cannot afford to go to prom. She will take donated dresses in any size and give them to students who can’t afford to buy a dress. She originally started this effort for guys and their tuxes about three years ago, and more recently started collecting dresses when she heard that a girl wanted to go to prom but didn’t have a dress. Last year a girl spoke to Mrs. Yannone in private and was able to get a
dress for free; everything that she needed for prom was either donated or bought for her. Hearing about this is like listening to a fairy tale, with Mrs. Yannone as the fairy godmother. She currently has about ten dresses in her room and wants everyone to know that whoever needs one can see her anytime and ask to meet with her in private. She is more than happy to help anyone who needs it and will also happily take any dresses and other donations. Every little bit can help!
