As we all know, Thanksgiving is right around the corner. This is a big time for the Coxsackie Food Pantry. They will be providing an entire Thanksgiving meal for many families within the surrounding areas. Things that might be needed would include boxed mashed potatoes, canned yams, corn, boxes of stuffing, sweet potatoes, green beans, cranberries, and most importantly…turkey!
The Coxsackie Food and Clothing Pantry invites any volunteers who would like to help with sorting, shelving, trucking, and shopping for food and personal care products, as well as serving the pantry's clientele.
Since 1977, the Community Food Pantry has fed families in need in the New Baltimore, Hannacroix, West Coxsackie, Earlton, Climax, Medway and Coxsackie areas. In the past, food was provided as needed to anyone in an emergency, and then once a month. The pantry is housed in the basement of the First Reformed Church on Route 385 in Coxsackie and is open Tuesdays 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. and Thursdays 7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. The entrance is at the rear of the church.
Financial contributions also offer a great benefit to the pantry. Donations of money, food, and personal care items can be made during pantry hours. Checks should be made out to the Community Food Pantry, and can also be mailed to “The Community Food Pantry at Post Office Box 147, Hannacroix, New York, 12087.” All those interested in volunteering should call the Coxsackie Food Pantry at 731-8603.
