Woman in Black movie poster - IMDB
James Watkins’ latest film, “The Woman in Black,” is a tragic heartfelt story masquerading as horror.
It’s a story about a young lawyer and widower named Arthur Kipps (Daniel Radcliffe) trying to solve a deep dark mystery. He travels to a village to investigate several children’s deaths by unknown causes. When he realizes his son may be the next one to be killed, he has to solve the mystery.
Throughout the movie the viewer sees Arthur Kipps’ life through his eyes as he thinks back to his happily married life.
He is haunted by ghosts of the previous owners who once lived and died in his house. Old toys left behind in the house give him clues to how each person will die in each scene.
Though this movie may remind viewers of Final Destination 1-5, the main character in “The Woman in Black” doesn’t have visions to piece together in order to see how each person will die through the whole movie
The camera angles make it look like the movie is in 3-D and the viewer is in a helicopter. The lighting looks very ominous and spooky.
“The Woman in Black” made $20 million on opening weekend and grossed a total of $53 million at the box office, over a $17 million budge
