This year St. Joseph High School is having a Christmas play called "The Mystery of Simon Shepherd" at St. Boniface on Thursday, Dec. 18, 2008 at 7 p.m. Tickets are being sold for $5 in advance and $7 at the door.
This year’s play is about a shepherd, who is not important, but goes missing, which causes the whole village to try and find him. The shepherd is soon brought to court, where the inn keeper is charged for Simon’s disappearance.
But there’s a bigger story behind the disappearance of Simon Shepherd, which is revealed at the end of the play.
Yolgie Pierre, a senior, thought of this play when S. Joan told the seniors that they needed to take charge of this year’s Christmas play.  She is also the director along with Simone Thomas, co-director of the play.
Yolgie always wanted to do this play ever since freshmen year, but was disappointed to find out that only seniors conducted the plays.
She says, "I right away thought about the play I did in sixth grade, ‘The Mystery of Simon Shepherd,’ where I played one of the main roles, the judge."
There are many other roles included in this play, such as being part of the jury, a sheep, an angel, Mary, and so much more.
If you want to see them, come to the Christmas play and bring friends and family.
The money from the play is being raised for the seniors’ year book and is also going towards charity for the victims of Haiti.

The play was 100% good and much better than I expected. I didn't want to attend the night they performed the Christmas play, but at the Christmas liturgy when they performed it again it was a surprise to me. Very good actresses and it was well put together. I thought it very interesting they should continue to do more plays like that.

This was a great thing to add to the newspaper, seeing as to how I couldn't go see the play this article gave me a little excerpt to fill me in what the play was about. I regret missing the play, but now I'm envious of the people who saw it it. The article was well written and I'm glad to find out that the money raised will go to a good cause.

As a member of the play production, I'd have to say that this year's Christmas play was one of the best. The cast was extremely large and we were able to work together and put on the show perfectly. I had a great time working with the directors and the cast.
