Hey! Have you ever wondered about the clubs in the school? Well, this article is here to present to you the R.A.P.P. program. What is the R.A.P.P. program? Well the R.A.P.P. program is a Relationship Abuse Prevention Program.
In the R.A.P.P. program, you can receive confidential counseling, one-on-one time and teach workshops on relationships.
There are four peer leaders, who are: Zari Havercome, Giavarna Faison, Emmanuela Vaught, and Amanda Andrew. They hope to be the Doctor Phil’s, Montel William’s and Oprah’s of SJHS.
The R.A.P.P. program is run by Ms. Moylan. In her youth, she became very interested in helping people with their problems and emotional lives. Ms.Moylan brings a lot of experience to the R.A.P.P. program. “I think I have a lot of expertise to offer as a therapist, knowledge of relationship skills,” she said.
Ms. Moylan said she feels that the R.A.P.P. program is positive and important. “I really like my job because I think relationship education is really necessary for every one during their adolscent years,” she said.
Zari Havercome, a freshman and R.A.P.P. member, was also very enthusiastic about the program. “I think it is a good program, because I’ve known people in all types of abusive relationships who didn’t have people to talk to, and here in the R.A.P.P. program we do,” she said.
Zari was interested in the program because she enjoys helping people. “I’m interested in it because I like to help people with their problems, and most of my friends already come to me for advice,” she said.
Ms.Moylan is a great listener, wonderful person and a loving advisor. Anyone can go and talk to her about anything, such as dating, relationships, family problems. school problems, conflicts, and more.
The R.A.P.P. program meets every Monday after school to talk about how to make the school and world a better place. They can’t help everybody, but they are going to try.
The R.A.P.P team is here to listen to your problems, give you advice, and help you in making your decisions. There are many other programs in the school but there is none quite like the R.A.P.P. program.
