Moody High School's homecoming 2009 was a great success. From the dress-up days, parade, pep rallies, and football game. The senior maids this year included: Lauren Gilmer, Jodie Williams, Brooke Bowman, Alix Vinson, and Karrly Isdell. “ I was very excited that the senior class picked me as one of the homecoming maids”. Said, Senior cheerleading captain Lauren Gilmer.
This year's dress-up were picked by head soccer coach and History teacher Shane Parker. The days included: team day, senior citizen day, color war day, decade day, and spirit day. “ I liked all the days”, said Parker, “ but senior citizen day and color war day were my favorite”. The seniors loved all the days and couldn't believe it was their last homecoming.
Color war was the day everyone got into. Seniors wore black, Juniors wore white, Sophomores red, and Freshman blue. The contest at the end of the day was when everything got crazy. There were competitions where the classes faced each other. In the obstacles overall the Freshman won 1 event, Sophomores won 1 event, Juniors had a big goose egg, and the seniors dominated every other event and the color war challenge.
“It was a fun time for all the classes to get together and compete”. Says Lauren, “and I loved the whole experience”. The senior float party was held at Senior varsity volleyball player, Homecoming Queen, Alix Vinson's house. “I'm glad everyone came and helped out on the float, it was a blast” Alix said.
When Friday came there were the pep-rallies, parade, and the game. Senior Lauren Gilmer said, “ I felt very anxious and excited about halftime at the game; and I was very honored to be a maid”.
