Every year the student body is assured that dress code will be strictly enforced. The dress code is enforced, but not completely. On a regular basis, students are sent to the office for not following the school dress code. Is this fair when every Friday, cheerleaders and Hi-Steppers come to school in miniskirts? I’m not saying all of them do, but some tend to push the dress code. Some of the skirts seem to meet dress code regulations, while others are obviously way too short. I do not think that it is that the skirts are too short, but that some girls feel the need to roll the skirts up in order to make them appear shorter and to be more revealing. Also, it seems that either the spankies are also not being worn properly or that they are not made to cover everything adequately. Personally, I am disgusted by it. Yes, they are showing school spirit, but can’t they do that by wearing something school appropriate? Perhaps it would be a good idea to save the uniforms for games and wear windpants and T-shirts or something similar during school. There are dress codes for a reason and this issue should be attended to. KC
