When you think of Richland wrestling you think of a tough team that people are scared of. One wrestler in particular named John Rizzo lives up to those expectations. He has accomplished something never done in Richland ever before. John’s hard work and determination got him where he is today, a two time state champ at heavy weight and now 220 pound state champion. This past season John had a first close match that got the pre-game jitters but still managed to win. The next two matches John made it look way too easy. Winning the final by a landslide John Rizzo was named the 2012, 220 pound state champ. The dedication of this young man inspired our entire school and demonstrated that hard work will pay off.
