Country Day is turning out to be very fun for new students. All of those interviewed say that Country Day is great, and better than their previous school. Everyone interviewed had different reasons for liking Country Day.
One liked iPads, while others liked the people or teachers.
Yet another reason that new students like SCDS is “because everyone is really welcoming and the teachers are very good and enthusiastic”, remarked Bella Killgore, a new sixth grader.
A very common reason for liking SCDS is the iPads, and here is why: Jayce McCain responded “because it’s cool to go digital”, while Shriya Nadguada said “it makes the classes more fun and me more organized.” Bella Killgore wrote “you don’t have to carry a lot of books around and you don’t lose anything that’s on [them].”
There are several ways that the new students heard of SCDS. Two got news of it through friends or relatives. One found it on the internet, and one was looking for a high school to go to, and ended up here. One has a sibling who probably will go, another has no sibling who will go to SCDS, and two have siblings currently going. The chief reason for switching was because their parents thought it would be better for them. Another big reason that the new students like Country Day is that they get more individual attention. That is probably due to smaller classes. The final big reason that new students like SCDS is that the curriculum is more challenging than their previous school.
None interviewed had come from the same school meaning that it is very unlikely that they knew each other before arriving. One of those interviewed knew sixth grader BJ Askew, and heard of SCDS from him. In the interviews, no one said anything negative about Country Day.
