Spring sports physicals are done which means tryouts are just around the corner. Various high school and Jr. High school teams will be trying out to make their final cuts on who will be left to make the team.

Teams will be holding tryouts this week of March 6, 2011. All teams will be having a high school and Jr. high school team. The teams holding tryouts will be girls’ soccer, boys’ baseball, girls’ softball, and both girls’ and boys’ track and field.

Teams will be using the appropriate training facilities for their tryouts. Soccer will be held on the upper high school soccer fields; softball on the lower varsity and jv high school fields.

Boys’ baseball will try out on the upper two varsity high school fields, and track will be using various training facilities around the high school football stadium.

Each student needs to bring appropriate clothing for their tryouts. Also for soccer, girls will need shin guards and soccer cleats; girls in softball will need cleats and a fielding glove. Boys in baseball will also need a fielding glove and cleats; and lastly, track participants will need to bring track/running shoes.

The coaches this year will be the same as last years. For girls’ soccer, the coaches will be John Rogan as well as Ken Kreider. Softball will be coached by Mr. Miller; for baseball the coaches will be John Girvin and Dave Wimer.

Track and field will be coached by the pair of Ivan Haines and Kyle Nardella.
