Fiver new teachers have joined the high school staff.  This issue features two of the new faces:  Miss Brubaker and Mr. Haines

     Miss Brubaker has taken over for Mr. Croyle in the music department this 2011-2012 school year.
     She graduated from Lebanon Valley College this past May and before that graduated from Ephrata High School in 2005.
    Miss Brubaker chose music as her career path simply because it was her passion, “I was good at it,” she said.
    Miss Brubaker is a very talented singer and has a love for theater.  This past summer she participated in the musical Chicago at a local theater.
   She is very happy to be at Solanco, and appreciated the opportunity to teach here. “Everyone has been really nice, I like it here.”


     Mr. Haines has taken over for Mr. Ard in the physical education department this 2011-2012 school year.

     He graduated from West Chest University.  Mr. Haines is originally from the Coatesville area.

     Mr. Haines said that knew he wanted to be gym teacher since eleventh grade, after being influenced by his grandfather and his love for health classes.
    Mr. Haines has a passion for baseball, and in 2006 his team won a state championship.     His favorite sport to watch is baseball and of course his favorite team is the Phillies,     “I’m a Philly guy through and through” says Haines.   
    Mr. Haines enjoys teaching gym and following in his grandfather’s footsteps.  He decided he wanted to, “make a difference in people’s lives, help them have a better future, and hopefully give them an enjoyable experience in High School.”
