A Squirrel -
Advertising
In Harrisburg Pennsylvania one woman is fighting for the right to keep her wild squirrel as a pet. Barbara Gosselin has been charged with breaking the law for having wild animals as pets. The gray rodent is named Nutkin, and she is very old and too tame to be put back into the wild. She obviously can’t care for herself in the wild after many years of living indoors and not having to look for food on her own. The judge Joseph Hudock seemed to take a liking to the squirrel; he enjoyed reading opinions of the rodent and stories about her. Apparently Nutkin fell out of her tree and was injured while she lived in South Carolina and then the family moved to Pennsylvania. In South Carolina there is no law about keeping wild animals as pets. The court judge, Joseph Hudock, ruled in favor of Nutkin, so she gets to stay home with her family
