Crest Ridge students are not only participating in after-school sports but are also getting involved in clubs. Clubs like drama club, math club and book club. There is also Middle School STUCO. These clubs allow students to interact with other students in their grade, and enjoy what they are doing. Mrs. English and Mrs. Ferguson sponsor math club, Mrs. Siegfried sponsors STUCO, and Mrs. Smith sponsors book club. Early in the year, Mrs. Smith said, “We’re not reading any books yet, but we had a book club meeting on Monday, February 6, 2012. The first thing we are going to be doing is learning how to do animated storytelling through the computer. I think the students will enjoy it, and have fun with it.”

For Valentine’s Days Middle School STUCO sold roses as a fundraiser for their club. Students bought roses and gave them to their loved ones. Selling roses puts a smile on the person who received one from a loved one, and it is a great fundraiser, putting money in the account for next year. In math club, the team has been meeting once a week getting prepared for math competitions in the future. Not much has been going on but they do meet every week. It is a great that middle school has clubs because it gets the younger students prepared for what clubs are like in high school. As a high school junior now, I would have loved to have had the chance to be in clubs during middle school. Each year middle school is stepping up their game by bringing new things to the organization, which is good for the student body.
