TAKEN.

                       Taken (Pg-13) is an 1hr and 33mins, comes out January, 30th and is a thriller/drama/action starring Liam Neeson. It’s written & produced by Luc Besson and directed by Pierre Morel. Neeson plays a retired government agent called a ‘preventer’ Named Bryan Mills. He retires from his job to spend more time with his 17 year old daughter, Kim who is played by Maggie Grace. His wife Linny/Lenore (Famke Janssen) left him because he was always away on assignments. One day, Kim and Lenore try to trick and shame Bryan into letting her and a friend go to Europe by telling Bryan that they are just going to France. When there, Kim figures out that the trip will not be as planned. While talking to her dad on the phone, she sees her friend get kidnapped and not five intense minutes later, she is, TAKEN. For the rest of the movie, Bryan transforms into some kind of cross between James Bond and Jason Bourne from Bourne Identity.

 I give Taken, a full five stars. Not only is it the best action movie I’ve seen this year, It’s the best action movie I’ve seen in a long time. The plots been done before, I know. But the execution of it was spot on. Every moment in the plot was packed with a healthy balance of drama, action, and excitement.
