As the year comes to an end the student at the THS especially seniors all reflect back on the whole year to where they are at now and where they want to be. They look back at the beginning of their sophomore year to the end of their senior year. They look back at all the different hurtles they have jumped to get where they are at now like the BUFF project, OHP, and the STEP project. They look back at all the fun of being a high school student and the fact that they will soon be out of high school and ready to face the real world but now hopefully they are set in the right direction thanks to the help of the STEP project. The STEP project is a required assignment to pass to be able to graduate at the Tahoma High School. For this project you need to complete and pass three parts, the portfolio, product, and oral presentation. On May 22 2009 the seniors arrive at school and would go to their assigned class for their presentation. In the room they are greeted by three judges one from the school and the two others from the community. While seniors presented many where nervous and filled with butterflies so I asked seniors if they where nervous about presenting, what did they like about the whole senior STEP project, and what advise they have for juniors and sophomores. Chris Bun said he was not nervous because he went over it with his teacher and had more confidants about presenting. I also asked him if he liked any part of the STEP project and he said he like the job shadow because he shadowed a cop and thought that was interesting. The advices I got for sophomores and junior was almost the same from many seniors and that is do not procrastinate and just do your work. Now that seniors are done with STEP they are ready to graduate and go in to the real world head on.
