Example of the vtks Revolt font from dafont.com

Microsoft Word only has a limited supply of fonts and half of them all look the same! So if you need to express your work better you can go to dafont.com to get more interesting fonts. Though you can only use them for personal use on your computer you can still print out the font or download the fonts onto another computer so you can use them then. dafont has themed fonts, movie title fonts, car manufacturer fonts, and hundreds of other miscellaneous fonts for use. Here are the instructions on how to use dafont:

Instructions:

·         Get on dafont and search for a font or use the links to get a list of some

·         When you choose a font you want to use, you will have to download it to your computer

·         Before you do this create a folder for where you want to save the font

·         To download the font you want you have to click on the [Download] button on the right side of the screen, across from the font you chose

·         When you click [Download] a window will pop up

·         Do not click [Save], click [Open] instead and then save its contents to the folder you created earlier to make it more convenient to access

·         In order to use the font you need to click on the font file and keep the window it brings up open

·         If you don’t keep the window open the font will not appear in the list of fonts in Microsoft Word

·         You must open this window before you open Microsoft Word because the font still will not appear in the list because it will need to be refreshed, but there is no refresh in Word

·         With the window open, you can then open a Word document and use the font

·         You must leave the window open to continue to use the font because if you close the window the font will return to a generic Word font, but if you just re-open the font window and Minimize then Maximize the Word document, the font should return

·         If you have a Word document open and then want to open a font for another word document the font will not show up because the word documents are linked together so you will have to exit out of all word documents before you can open and use the font.

Congratulations you now know how to use the fonts from dafont. They will become useful for future projects and assignments or even in your career depending on what you will do.
