Student Attacked with Hammer at Columbine Two students ended up in the hospital after a vicious attack with a hammer. - World Maps Advertising Tuesday, February 21, 2012 By Conner Griffin A former Dakota Ridge High School student, who recently transferred to Columbine High School, was arrested and is facing assault charges. The 14 year-old suspect wounded two of her peers with a hammer: one being 16-year-old Aaron Flowers, and his friend, a 15-year-old girl whose name has not been released to the press. "They've had problems before, I just don't know why she decided to do something like that today," Flowers said to 9 News. Flowers and his friend weren’t injured severely, but they were hospitalized with Flowers, who suffered damages to his hand as well as minor bruises. In the future, Flowers will need surgery on his hand. The other victim in the attack, has been rumored to have suffered a concussion, but otherwise the medical records haven’t been released. Both were released from the hospital the same day as the attack. “I think the girl was really stupid about doing it in the school,” says Kristina Walters, 11th grade student at Columbine, “I don’t really think Columbine has bad luck as most say, everywhere you go there’s going to always be people like that.” The attacker used a hammer as a weapon, and it is still unkown whether or not she brought the weapon to school or found it on campus.  The incident is still in investigation, and what provoked the attack remains unclear.
