Eagles fire the ball to Denver South. - Jake Oie

The varsity volleyball team played their homecoming game with amazing effort that drove them to victory. After losing the first game they went on to win the next three resulting in a 3-1 victory over Denver South.

Perhaps their recent loss was the motivation that lead the Eagles down the right path. The Eagles managed to keep their lead in the final three matches.

“Some key factors were executing, definitely hitting the ball at different places, and placing them more where they were. To be smart and not force anything, and just play as a team,” said Cierra Weimer.

The team played hard from start to finish, and showed great sportsmanship. After their loss to Rampart on Monday, the team had a great turn around this game. The power shown by each player in their shots made for some great plays for the fans to see.

“We had to do very good to make up for our game against Rampart on Monday. Our goal was just to execute and do our best. I thought we did a good job of that,” adds Cierra Weimer.

They always know where their focus should be every week. In this game good shots were made and the players worked as a team together allowing them to have their desired outcome.

The players made good decisions during the game, and demonstrated the ability of knowing when to execute and make good plays. They may have lost the first match, but the score was close and it did not break Dakota’s spirit.

This group of Eagles continues to give great effort every week. Each player has their own individual qualities that make this team unique. However they all show the same level of excitement and a positive attitude during the game. They brought an undeniable force to Denver South and can easily do the same with their next opponent.
