Tickets were on pre-sale for $15 outside of the cafeteria during the homecoming week. They were also being sold at the door for $20. Each Dakota Ridge student was allowed one student from a different school, and they had to have their student ID.

The actual dance started at 7:00p.m. in the main gym of Dakota Ridge High School. The decorations were totally beyond everyone's expectations, meeting the "old hollywood" theme. There were posters of old films, a decorated arch above the entrance of the gym.

"It was really fun! It was just so crazy, but I had an awesome time," said Brittany Creelman (10).

Many students got a large group together, went out to dinner or took pictures then headed to the dance. The majority of students did go in groups, as it is popular and more fun for students. Many students did bring dates, it was an exciting atmosphere.

Some students even rented a limo for the big night, but caravan-ing was probably the more popular mode of transportation that night.

There was a D.J. there, who accepted song requests, and generally played the most popular songs of 2012. There were songs to dance with that everyone knew, and a lot of songs that had every single student singing along.

There were strobe lights, and lights that flashed on the walls of the gym. Walking into the actual dance was simply a great experience.

Girls wore several styles of dresses, with sparkles or not. Guys were not allowed to wear jeans, so most wore black pants and a black suit coat. Some even dressed their outfit up with a fedora hat.

Overall, Homecoming 2012 at Dakota Ridge High School was a complete hit, and everybody had loads of fun. It was a great night to get away from school work and stress. It was an ideal time to just to let loose and enjoy the night.
