Shaniya Baird a 9th grader who is running for 10th grade senator. She is running because she does not think that student government accomplished much this year and she wants to get things done. She wants the ninth graders to vote for her because she can get people heard.

“If I don’t get voted senator I won’t be depressed, I will run again next year.“

She says she the best choice for tenth grade senator because she is different and has a lot of good ideas for next year. She has a unique style and she stands out from everyone else.

To her DaVinci means a place to feel safe and free to do anything she wants. It is like a second home to her.

She will work towards trying to change the dress code and not ridicule students. She thinks that if they get enough people and take the argument to the board they might be able to change the dress code, or at least modify it. She wants to change the dress code because she thinks that there are a lot of students complaining about the dress code and how they think it’s too strict.

“I also thinks that it can be a good thing, but it makes it harder to express your personality.”
