With the NBA playoffs right around the corner, South students weigh their opinions on how the season is going.
"LeBron [James] is going to be the MVP because he is dominating right now and D-Wade isn't as explosive as he was last year," said Loren Taylor, senior.
Kobe Bryant leads his Los Angeles Lakers into the playoffs with the best record in the West, while James leads his Cleveland Cavaliers with the best record in the East. But will fans finally get to see the Kobe-Lebron matchup that they have been hoping for?
"It's going to be Cavs and Lakers with Cleveland winning it because Lebron is due for a championship and Shaq has been there before," said Labrone Williams, senior.
Taylor also believes that the Cavs will be in the finals and that the road to the championship will have to come "straight out of L.A."
Matt Mitchell, senior, believes that the Dallas Mavericks are the strongest team out of the West because of the deal that they got done right at the trade deadline to acquire Caron Butler and Brendan Haywood from the Washington Wizards.
"The Celtics will make it to the Finals because they have the experience but the Mavs will win because they are younger and more athletic," said Mitchell.
Be sure to keep up with all the action and watch the playoffs starting April 17, 2010.
