Dress to Impress day has come and gone, ending Homecoming week of 2011. Many students dressed up to impress their dates, show Husky pride, or just for the opportunity to come to school looking distinguished and with nice, formal attire.

Homecoming week is all about showing pride in your school. Many people dressed up to show that pride in their school, and to participate in their school’s community.

“I wanted to show my school spirit,” freshman Ebony King said.

Other students wanted to end their final year of High School by going all out. It helped them express their pride at attending an amazing school for the past three years of their lives.

“I’m a Senior, so I wanna do everything big this year,” senior Jacob Lozano said.

Although many students were able to dress up and show off their suits and dresses, others were unable to. For some, school activities made it difficult to dress up.

“I had a field trip and football game today, so I couldn’t,” sophomore Abraham Villagomez said.

Some students were uniformed about which Spirit Day activity was going on. Because of this, they were also unable to dress up.

“I forgot it was Dress-to-Impress day,” freshman Javier Frierro said.

In some cases, Chapin students were unable to dress up, due to the school’s policy on the dress code.

“My dress wasn’t appropriate for Chapin standards,” junior Mandy Mansion said.

This Homecoming week proved to be quite enjoyable as there was an astonishing amount of students willing to dress up and participate in the week’s events. One can only hope that it can be repeated again next year.
