Cultures of the World Club (COW Club) has only been around for a few years now, but it has already had some great success. Mrs. Sheila Riggs is both the founder and the supervisor of COW Club. The club is made up of a group of students who want to know more about different cultures and who really love learning about different kinds of people.
In the beginning, the club was just designed for the members of Mrs. Riggs’ ESL class members, but it eventually opened up to anyone who wanted to join the club. The club has about twenty members in it. They all seem to have fun at each one of the meetings because they are all friends with each other.
The club also does different things around the community which are helpful to many people. For instance, they have helped in a food drive. The only other thing Mrs. Riggs would like for this club is that they do more community work and to get more involved in the community.
On the fun side of things, the club also goes on an annual trip which is chosen by both Mrs. Riggs and the members of the club. This is the trip that excites many of the members and brings them to the club in the first place.
The newest piece of information is the Valentine's Day Dance that the club is soon to be hosting. The club has been talking about it for quite a while and the members are very excited about it. The dance is being held on the twelfth of February and should be a great success. As Anya Seely says, “the dance is going to be great and everyone should go to it.”
