Singers, lip syncers, and dancers came out to show off what they got on March 21, at 6:30 p.m, at the Granite Hills Annual Talent show and Air Band Competition.  There were 5 judges who watched the students’ talent which they eventually picked the three top acts.
       To start off the night Joshua Johnson (12) started the show with his rap called "yelling slightly and rising up" which got the crowd pumped as he started to pop confetti and spray silly string at the audience including the grandparents
sitting in the front.
      Raelee Longoria (13) and Jose Quintanilla (13) sang a duet that
got the crowd amazed at the great combination of the sweet tone of Raelee and Jose's amazing rapping. There were tons of singers who amazed the judges with
their unique song choices and amazing voices. Emma Nossal (13) and Tim
Connolly (13) who also sang a duet "Without You" by Lana Del Rey made the crowd feel the intensity of their voices and wowed the judges as well.
    This year Air band was joined with the talent show and consisted of two groups "We got Class" and "The Spice Girls". The spice girls who looked very identical to the popular girl group showed off their girl band abilities.  While "We got Class" brought the dance moves and story line of guys trying to impress the new "hot girl" in school.   The diversity of dance moves that impressed people and made people
laugh surely got the judges attention and the group won their way to
District Air band at Grossmont March 28.
   As the talent show was coming to an end Michael May (13) and Kevin Egan made the audience start cheering with their impressive rapping skills and awesome guitar playing. The big star of the night was Stephany Negrete (12) which sang three songs but her cover of the legend Whitney Houston’s "I will always love you" brought people to their feet with her amazing performance which showed why the she made it all the way to Hollywood on American Idol.
   With all the great acts of the night the judges had a hard decision of who should win the big money prizes which included: fifty dollars for third place, seventy five for second and one hundred dollars for first.

   Third place winners were Tim Connolly and Emma Nossal with their duet. Second Place winners were Raelee Longoria and Jose Quintanilla with their performance. Finally first place was Stephany Negrete with a good performance that kept their eyes glued to her. Granite Hills sure showed that they have talent as every performer that showed their stuff.
