After so many years of only having two major political parties in the USA, people are beginning to push for a change in the political spectrum. Two new parties have popped up that claim to be “grass-roots” and encourage people to change the way Washington is being run.

    The Tea Party Patriots and Coffee Party USA are two very different yet very similar parties. The Tea Party Patriots have been in the news more recently because of major protests and rallies they have sponsored. It is a group that is more conservative than the Republicans and doesn’t like the new health care bill one bit. It seeks to influence all the upcoming elections by encouraging people to vote in Tea Party members.

    The Coffee Party USA is just the opposite. It is a liberal group that prides itself on being open to everyone. It doesn’t take as radical of approaches to protesting. It states on their website that “The federal government is not the enemy of the people, but the expression of our collective will, and that we must participate in the democratic process in order to address the challenges that we face as Americans.”

    Both parties make a good case and are a nice new development in American politics. So whether you prefer coffee or tea, that is your decision.
