Sport banquets happen at the end of every season. They consist of socializing and feasting on
appetizing food after a great achievement of getting through the season. It is the last bonding that
the team will have with each other for that year. Some sports don’t have a banquet. It is mostly because the coach(es) don’t schedule one or talk to their team about it or it could be because of the founding, but it is not required to have one.

Usually sport teams have potlucks at school or at somebodies house. Some go to restaurants. Players give out their "thank you’s" to their coaches, take pictures, and eat specially prepared food. Teammates and their families eat and sometimes the coach stops them to give out awards and a long heartfelt speech of how the season went.

"Golf is going to have their's at the Escondido Country Club also. W're going to eat dinner and give out MVP awards." said Golf Coach Victor Garduno.

Though some sports do not have to pay their banquet, the cheerleaders had to pay 20 dollars. They ate brunch at the Escondido Country Club April 10th. At the end of the banquet, jv nor varsity got their letters. The one big difference that the cheerleaders had is that everybody got an award and the coaches shared positive feedback about each of them. Varsity got specially framed team pictures and three got awards that were spirt sticks.

In our banquet, I did not get an award, sadly. I didn’t even play a lot, but I enjoyed the banquet because the food was really good," said junior Donovan Geronilla.

The varsity basketball team, which Geronilla plays for had their banquet in the performing arts center (PAC). His team watched a video of their season, ate and gave out two awards.

"Varsity girl’s soccer team’s banquet wasn’t too different from the basketball teams banquet. We basically did the same thing. Some of us wore fancy clothes and some dressed causually. We ate tacos and cookies. Honestly our banquet could of been better, but we didn't fundraise enough." said freshman Angela Martinez.
