walking out of class on Halloween, the aromas of different foods made it clear that this was going to be a the biggest food fair. This year’s food fair there were more stands and more food options than any of the previous years. Choices at the food fair were Grumpy bowls, churros, pizza, ice cream sundaes, and many more. in able to have more excitement about the fair, it was held on Halloween.
This year the food fair was a little less organized than in previous years because it was on Monday. Some students had forgotten about the fair during the weekend and didn’t bring their money so they couldn't purchase food.
“Meeting the kids is great but it doesn’t seem to be organized this year,” North County Academic League coach Cecelia Norris said.
The food fair is a major fundraiser for clubs to gain money. The profit the clubs make from the fair goes to their club fund. Clubs may use money for activities and other events throughout the year.
Student volunteers represent their club. They volunteer for their own reasons. They are ordinary students who decided to volunteer to help whichever club they are members of.
“You get to make people happy by serving the food,” junior, Students Against Destructive Descisions
representative Pablo Tinoco said.
The food fair extended lunch for five minutes. The time taken from the food fair came from the shortening of blocks and tutorial. Last year the food fair lasted for one hour while this year it had lasted for 35 minutes.
“I enjoy everything about the fair, like hanging with friends and having good food, but the lines are a problem,” sophomore Alex Bill said.
