Stay focused, almost done. The end is near and it’s time to get the ball rolling.
“Being a senior and doing homework is lame now, and you want to be out with your friends instead of being inside, so it gets distracting at times and I don’t do anything useful with my time,” senior Adan Garcia said.
It’s hard to keep going through the motions of school, when the finish line is near.
Getting rid of the distractions can be hard, but students seem to have it figured out.
“My advice is lay off Facebook, schedule out your day, take a break from doing homework so you don’t get bored and distracted easily, them come back and finish it up,” Garcia said.
On campus, this is a common thought that floods through our minds to give up.
“Teachers are not always there to help us with our distractions and sometimes the teachers are just as unfocused as the students, they are teaching.
“I normally become unfocused, when things become too much to handle or over whelming.  Makes me start to doubt  myself, but with encouragement and a lot of hard work to reach my goals, I’ll pass,” senior Nina Garner said.
Joesph Rewa, an Algebra Two teacher has come up with a slogan to help his students.
Remember to keep their eyes on the prize and finish up this year even better than they started.
“Either work hard or you might as well quit,” Rewa said.
He has convinced his students to believe in life and finish what they have started.
“High school is a journey, where working hard and keeping focus is key. Teachers can keep students focused just by taking the extra time with them. I came up with the slogan at the gym and introduced it to my students and have taken well to it,” Rewa said.
Students need to keep social networking, music and other distractions at bay until their studies are done.
Keeping the strategy of being on top of things for the years to come, gives the upper hand in life to be successful.
“I turn off my phone, or sometimes I go to the public library where it’s quite to be able to concentrate on what I’m supposed to be doing,” Garcia said.
