To be inducted into the Kenwood Hall of Fame is a very prestigious honor. Every year Kenwood High School takes time to honor certain alumni that have exceeded expectations at Kenwood High School. To be inducted into the hall of fame is not only a prestigious event; it’s an honor and a sign of achievement within one’s own community. This year there was 3 new inductees added into the Kenwood High school 2010 Hall of Fame.

We interviewed one of the Hall of Fame committee member, Mrs. Laura Koehler and, she gave us some very information about the assembly, insight on how she feels about being part of the Hall of Fame committee and the procedures that members must go  through to be inducted into the Kenwood Hall of Fame. Mrs. Koehler told us that she feels proud to be part of the Kenwood Hall of Fame Committee and that it’s an honor to be involved with something so prestigious at Kenwood. Procedures to be inducted into the KHS Hall of fame:

1. Kenwood must be informed on why you should be in the Kenwood Hall of Fame.
   1. What did you accomplish at Kenwood High School?
   2. What did you accomplish after attending Kenwood High School?
2. Next the Hall of Fame Committee takes into consideration what the person has accomplished and whether they should be inducted into the Hall of Fame with the next class of inductees.
3. If you are inducted you get to make an appearance at the next Kenwood Hall of Fame assembly.

We also interviewed Mrs. Kate Smith who’s a teacher at Kenwood High school, a 2002 graduate from Kenwood and a 2010 Kenwood High school Hall of fame inductee. Overall Mrs. Smith felt joyous she said it feels great to be able to teach at the school that she attended and that she feels honored to be inducted into the Kenwood Hall of Fame. She also said that she like’s the fact that the kid’s that she teach can come and talk to her about almost anything.

If you didn’t make it to this year’s Hall of Fame assembly hopefully you’ll make it next year, and if you’re a student at Kenwood High school, make the most of your High school years so one day you can be inducted into the Kenwood Hall of Fame.
