The Borrego Rams football team came back strong after their first loss to Foothills Christian on Sept. 7, 8-23.



On Sept. 14, the home game against Lutheran ended in a mercy rule 62-14. Juan Hernandez and Alex Garcia had the most rushing yards of the game, Hernandez with a total of 193 yards and Garcia with a total of 144 yards with Hernandez having a 79 yard run to a touchdown. Mat Bailey, the senior quarterback, had total passing yards of 47 as well as 35 rushing yards. During the game, the Rams had a total of 57 tackles and three fumble recoveries. Bailey headed the number of tackles with eight followed by Abraham Gonzalez with six.

The touchdowns were scored by Bailey with three as well as a 2-point conversion, Garcia with one, Gonzalez with two, Hernandez with two and Hector Ledezma with one. Joey Propati and Chepe Rangel both had two 2-point conversions. The game ended in the third quarter.
