Seniors!
Here it is - the final countdown. We’ve survived three years of high school, and are looking pretty darn good. We’ve worked hard, played hard and probably napped pretty good too. Now it’s time to head out into the world of adults. But before we go, let’s pay a tribute to our senior year; the best year of high school by far. We asked for a few of the most memorable moments from the past months. Memories, memories!
The number one answer was the wind storm. Blustery was our middle name. With 100 mph winds, it was a day to sing about when school was closed. “I thought it was awesome how everyone came out to help clean up the next day,” said Erin Coleman (12).
Favorite number two? (By favorite, we mean annoyed out of our minds.) All the fire drills. “What was up this year?” said Mike Epperson (12). The first three were causes for alarm. Students wondered what could be going on. “Is it really an emergency?” we all wondered. By the sixth time, it was hard to get students to leave their desks. Safe to assume it was a false alarm. But protocol always wins out! With well over 5 drills, we are now beyond prepared to evacuate any building should a fire breakout.
“Cross country took region for the first time in 16 years!” said an ecstatic Mitchell Best. (Grade 12) All of our sports teams did exceptionally well this year. Tender memories for all our sports players and fans to take with them to college.
The last day we’d like to remember was the days after the death of Gabe Hansen and Andrew Tolman. We had more than our fair share of student loss. “It was neat to see how the school came together and bonded after their deaths,” said Mikayla Foster ( 12). The support from students and friends to the families left behind was heartwarming. We celebrate the lives these two boys lived.
So, it has truly been an exciting year. Good , bad, and crazy. Now to our next big step. Good luck everyone!
